Perla is the result of a collaboration with Talavera Santa Catarina; a specialized workshop in the preservation and production of Talavera for more than 20 years. It was brought to Mexico with the Spanish invasion in the VXIth century and was mainly used to produce crockery, casseroles, pipes and jugs in the development of New Spain. Nowadays, Puebla has de designation of orgin of this ancestral tradition.
The pendant lamp comprises 2 elements; a black chrome finished cylinder and on the upper part a Talavera Poblana sphere. Those elements create a harmony between them due to the simplicity in their geometry.
The name Perla is given to this luminaire model because each sphere is made individually; so, there are no two alike. In such way the result resembles the natural creation of a pearl.
